Final Week Blog #2 (2/3/23)

Describe what you are most thankful for in your internship experience—what experiences, what people, and so on? What new appreciations have you gained through internship and how did you develop these?

I am most thankful for the people that I have met throughout my internship. Although the experience overall was very exciting and fulfilling, I feel as though the people I met throughout my internship were the best part about it. Everyone I met treated me with great kindness and welcoming attitudes, they all made an effort to get to know me and build a bond that goes beyond a mentor and student relationship. Something new that I have begun to appreciate are small talk conversations. I used to dislike small talk especially with people I'm not familiar with but after internship I learned that in order to get to the interesting and lengthy conversations, you need to start with something small. This internship taught me many things but appreciating the small things is my biggest takeaway from it.

This was a hand that was removed from a female due to a motor vehicle accident. It is a trauma case, meaning it was detached from her body during the accident. Doctors tried to save it and attach it back to her arm but unfortunately they couldn't.
