What is the biggest challenge you face at your internship?

I would say the biggest challenge I face, apart from not having a badge and waiting for everyone to open the door for me, would be patience. Slide filing takes up my entire day at my internship because there are always so many more that are being delivered once I have finished the first stack. Sometimes I can get really impatient and want to give up and do something else but then I see how hard everyone else is working and how my role is just as important to keep the workspace flowing smoothly which motivates me. It's hard especially because some of the slides can come damaged which means we need to type in the information manually. Other times slides have different barcodes which means we need to cover the barcodes so that the computer can still scan the slides without it rejecting the ones that are different. It's hard to stay focused at times because it does get repetitive and making small mistakes like not scanning the slides before you put them into the trays or mixing the years can really impact everyone around. For example, if we mix the years 2022 and 2023 the computer will only scan the slides of the year with the most in a singular tray, which means that any slides that were not apart of that year could potentially get lost forever. So it definetly takes patience but the more I do it the easier it is to recognize and correct mistakes.
